For Family Home Evening we had a wonderful little lesson on the prophet and what he does. Simplified for 3 & 5 yr olds, He talks to Jesus, then tells us what we should know. Easy, right?
Afterwards, we asked the kids to recap "What does the prophet do?" before bringing out treats.
Aidan's immediate answer, "Goes pee-pee on the potty!"
Oh dear. So much for the lesson. (I swear we didn't tell him THAT.)

Great job having family home evening. Ours consists of watching movies together. I am surprised our kids even know who the prophet is.
That is awesome! And he does, so good job Aidan!! :)
That is so funny, it reminds me of some of my primary lessons. I try and try and try to teach and repeat a concept and at the end of my lesson I ask the kids what we talked about, they usually say "the gospel" or "Jesus!" What to do?
So funny! thanks for the laugh...
I think Aidan has discovered an awesome lesson on potty training....we should follow the prophet....the prophet goes pee pee on the potty....therefore all un-potty-trained little 3 year old boys should also go pee pee on the potty! Dynamite! That is our next Monday night lesson!!!
I wish it were that simple to potty train him! He still refuses to go.
That is funny. I think it is funny that kids hear what they want to hear--obviously there has been discussion around there about the potty.
We all have goals in life and therefore need role models. I think you should run with it and use it as motivation for potty training. YOu could sing "Follow the Prophet" each time he heads for the bathroom.
So cute, kids say the funniest things, 3 year olds especially. It is a fun age.
