A Sweet Valentine Wedding

My Dad married his sweetheart of many years over Valentines' weekend!

It was a very sweet, small wedding in North Carolina, that was just as beautiful as the old-fashioned bride and groom.

Jordan got to be a flower girl, tossing rose petals down the aisle. Aidan was the ring-bearer, carrying the rings down the aisle on a pillow, alongside Erik. Bella was a little princess, clinging to mommy down the aisle. My dad was handsome as ever, in his suit with red bow-tie and rose boutineer. Karen (the bride) was simply stunning in an Audrey Hepburn-style cream dress and bonnet, bouquet of roses in hand.

We met our new wonderful stepfamily: two sisters (just like my sister and I) and four precious little girl cousins, same ages as ours. They all got the chance to participate in the wedding, fashionably dressy and adorable.

Jordan & Bella enjoyed the lollipops provided for the kids.

My dad, ever the romantic, played the guitar and sang to his new bride - it was the sweetest thing I've ever seen at a wedding!

The cakes were incredible, handmade by a friend. A Valentine-decorated white almond wedding cake that was simply the best I've ever tasted, and Mardi Gras themed chocolate groom's cake (perfect for Dad!)

We had a teriffic vacation, visiting a fun children's museum, Duke Campus (wow - I never knew it was like a medieval castle), and the highlight of our trip, South Carolina's Myrtle Beach. Despite the cold and biting wind, the kids had a blast playing on the beach (we got asked if we were from the North Pole and thought it was summer in February) and swimming in the amazing heated pools.

Check out the view from our balcony at the Marriott Resort...dreamy! The heated pools outside were perfect. Especially the kids' pool and treehouse!

It was a perfect vacation!

(Right up until the plane trip home, where Bella peed her pants, we had to buy a Jr.-size t-shirt at an airport to act like a dress, and I got extremely airsick due to horrible turbulence, utilizing the airplane's barf-bag...everything's worse when you're pregnant!) At least that was END of our trip, and we could come home afterwards!

Cheers to Dad and Karen, the newlyweds!

Oh so happy for your dad! I love the family picture. It looks like Bella has an amazing hat made out of flowers poking out of her little head.;)
